Thank you for visiting our site. The information that follows is about this historic Orthodox Church, Holy Scripture, Orthodox Canons and traditions.
We are the one true American Orthodox Catholic Church, our short name since 1927, that was established by Charter from the Russian Synod of Bishops in North America (of the Moscow Patriarchate) in 1927. Archbishop Aftimios Ofiesh was appointed first Archbishop of the Church and in 1928 he incorporated this Church. All other groups claiming our name(s) are not us and probably not canonical or canonically established. Due to the 1929 schism created by the ethnic churches we are the only orthodox church in our canonical jurisdiction. A schism ends the sacramental authority of the Church and clergy in schism. These schismatics have failed and refused to repent all these years and continue to attack this Church and violate the Sacred and Divine canons by allowing priests to attack the memoy of a long dead Canonical Archbishop. If you are a member of a schismatic church the canons direct your punishment.
In Oct. 1933 a NY World newspaper article about this Canonically estabished Church stated we are the only Orthodox church in our rightful jurisdiction (North America). To the best of our knowledge not one of the SCOBA church groups ever denied this statement. None have denied our claim that they created the Schism in American Orthodoxy either. Their unchristian past is catching up to them.

Archbishop Victor has been Corporate and Synod president of The Holy Eastern Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church in North America since Feb. 1997. He is the only legitimate successor of Archbishop Aftimios Ofiesh. That is detailed on other pages and on the official documents page (link) below [see the certifitied documents].
Since our short name, American Orthodox Catholic Church, and the Corporate name are shown in the 1927 Church constitution as the names we are to be known by and set apart from all other Churches by those who use either name do so illegally. These names are either part of a Registered Service Mark, a formerly registered mark or a common law service mark of this Church and our rightful property for the exclusive use of this Church.
There are many individuals who are members of independent Church jurisdictions who claim our lines. We deny they have any lines from this Church. There are others who would claim to be us under a different name and under similar names to confuse the public. One man in Florida incorporated a church using our name, took our Registered service mark, church history and more but he is just a fake. You can find him on pokrov.org under the name Metropolitan Alexander C.D. Bartholomew. He is a former Roman Catholic priest. According to what is written online he was in his 50's when ordained priest in 2000 and suspended in 2002 based on sexual related accusations.
Those who are so desperate to be "real" clergy and not just independents playing church are the ones who steal a churches name, history and basic identity but they still have no sacramental authority from this Church because you cannot obtain true sacramental authority by fraud and deception.
There are a number of individuals who wish to see this church fail and cease to exist. Some are members of SCOBA churches and some are members of independent jurisdictions who have claimed to be us or continue to lie and claim they are us.
They fail to consider one point - They will never be us and cannot legally be us at any time. This Church has been setup to maintain an independent life as a legal entity with control and ownership of the name and logo as well as our copyrighted materials are ours by law.
Those who claim to be us under the American Orthodox Catholic Church name are not. They have no legal claim on our 1927 short name no matter what they try to claim.
If you think you can take control of the church by joining us do not bother, that has also been tried and the corporate board works independent of the Synod.
Those who claim to be the Society of Clerk's Secular of Saint Basil are also making false claims. The SSB was originally established within this Church in 1931 and continues within this Church. Anyone using this name violate our former Registered Service Mark since the law does not require continued Registration. We had the name Registered for more than the required 5 years and previously claimed the name as a common law service mark.
Anyone claiming any of our other common law service marks as listed on our websites are also acting in a criminal manner by infringing our intellectual property.
